Infant Holy Infant Lowly
This exquisite setting of the familiar Polish carol demonstrates Betty Garee's understanding of the handbell idiom and the writing genius which made her one of our foremost handbell composers. Somewhat impressionistic in style, the use of LV, mallets on suspended bells, scale passages, chromaticism, changing meters, and two-against-three make this piece a "must" in the repertoire of intermediate and advanced bell choirs. When careful attention is given to the musical details indicated by the composer, this piece will be a moving addition to both concerts and worship services.
