Review:
This lyrical and beautiful song was written by Joe Mattingly, who is well-known for his many choral compositions. Kurt has created this setting which is true to the original, yet perfectly arranged for handbells. It begins featuring suspended bells interweaving "Silent Night" with "Christmas Lullaby" and supported by singing bells. The lyrical melody, LV passages, and handchimes all emphasize the wonderful expression throughout. Ket of c minor; 98 measures.
Note: Mattingly directs the Newman Singers at Univ. of Iowa – and for context, you may want to listen/watch this online as the lyrics are wonderful.
