Review:
“Sweet Little Jesus Boy” is a modern Christmas classic and Jefferey Hall's setting is both haunting and beautiful. The handbell part, with optional chimes, can stand alone; however, adding the optional voices will enhance the presentation. The choral score is written for solo with SATB choir, but a variety of suggested vocal/choral combinations makes this a versatile addition to any repertoire. Set at an adagio tempo, much feeling should be put into this one. "Sweet Little Jesus Boy" is arranged in e minor and is 56 measures.
