Review:
The winner of the 2007 Bells of the Sound "Three Ring Circus" Composition Contest, this piece represents the composer's second "circus piece." Having learned of the contest after "Carnivale" was under contract (and therefore ineligible), he created this delightfully fun original two days before the entry deadline! Subtitled "Pierrot Finds a Friend," the piece follows the journey of the traditional "sad clown," from sadness to joy. Optional clarinet and piccolo add a bit of whimsy to this crowd-pleaser, whose title comes from circus-speak for "Good Luck!" Written in A Major and E Major, this piece is 105 measures.
