Review:
With the use of mart-lifts, ostinatos, and key changes, many moods are set within this arrangement of the lively English tune. Beginning with a free, ethereal LV introduction, the piece transitions to a steady tempo, with the melody being accompanied by a rocking harmonic figure in the bass clef. The next stanzas feature the melody in the bass clef, followed by a key change and full chordal ringing. The ending is reverent and thoughtful. This rendition of "The Holly and the Ivy" is 79 measures and is scored in G Major and A Major.
