Review:
This reflective and poignant setting creates the imagery of Christ's slow, plodding steps to the crucifixion and the flowing fountain of His forgiveness while drawing all who hear it ever closer to the cross. This mood is achieved with smooth. legato lines, minimal use of stopped techniques, and a moderate tempo. Later sections become busier with sixteenth notes in the treble against a syncopated bass line. 67 measures in length, this piece is scored in C Major, Ab Major, and F Major.
