Review:
This majestic setting of the German hymn tune "Kirken den er et Gammelt Hus" includes a part for optional handchimes in the lower 3-octave range. The latter half of the selection offers the congregation the opportunity to join in singing. The hymn text is based on Matthew 16:18 "And I say also unto thee, that thou are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it". All types of techniques are scored to achieve the mood of the text. Measures total 130.
