"When Mary through the garden went, there was no sound of any bird,..." so begins the text of this C minor, Easter anthem which includes an optional bell accompaniment for twelve bells ranging from C5 to G6. A separate bell score is provided in the back of the anthem folio. The bells ring in open texture the latter half of the piece.
