Review:
This SATB, SAB, or 2-part mixed choral anthem pairs two traditional French Christmas carols. In addition to the keyboard accompaniment, optional flute, orchestra bells, or handbells may be added to enhance the piece. 9 handbells are needed (G5-A6) and ring in a half note, unison line through much of the piece. Singer's part is a level 3; handbell part is a level 1.
It works well for school concerts and Christmas worship. When performed by church choirs, suggested corresponding lectionary readings include Psalm 97, Isaiah 62:6-12, Luke 2:1-20 and Titus 3:4-7. 80 measures, starting in the key of F Major, then modulating to G Major.
