Review:
Since its release twenty years ago, THE FIRST SONG OF ISAIAH has enjoyed consistent popularity. Part of the beauty of the work is that it can effectively be performed in a simple, meditative way or as a festive celebration with unlimited resources. To celebrate this birthday, this special Festival Edition expands on the original giving the choir a more substantial challenge, yet still involves the congregation. The handbells play at intervals throughout the work. Brass ensemble is two trumpets, two trombones and timpani.
