Review:
Adolphe Adam's beloved Christmas carol has been here arranged for 4-5 octaves of bells. The arranger uses the traditional, triplet figure accompaniment in 12/8 time. The melody enters the first time in a unison line and then is strengthened by adding chordal texture in the second phrase. The piece builds slowly and ends with a triumphant fortissimo followed by a slow thoughtful ending phrase.
