Review:
Unlike the usual flowing arrangements of this German carol "Es ist ein Ros'", this setting makes use of steady eighth-note pulse to move the music along. Different techniques are supplemented to add interest and variety. A slight break from this accompaniment found in the full, chordal middle section. The arrangement works for 3, 4, or 5 octaves.
