Review:
This piece was commissioned to celebrate the bicentennial of the Protestant Episcopal Church in America. The SATB part is unaccompanied but does utilize optional handbells (D6 & A5). In the plainsong, the quarter-notes will be just a little slower than the quarter-notes which propel the words of the poem. While the first and second verses might be sung by soloists, the second (fauxbourdon) verse must be sung by a semi-choir, or by the whole choir very softly. Measures total 99.
