Review:
Subtitled "A Teacher's Guide to Using Handchimes and Handbells" this is an educational resource to help directors and teachers teach new ringers and hone the technique of experienced ringers. Included are exercises that teach the basics of ringing and ringing techniques, followed by short songs to reinforce the concept taught in each exercise. Designed for 2 octaves (G4 to G6) or 3 octaves (C4 to C7). Also included are QR Codes linked to short YouTube instructional videos teaching the handbell and handchime techniques. All exercises and music are reproducible.
When working with beginning ringers, it is helpful to color-code notes. The Highlighted Songs Pack (MHP3060H) is intended to be used with the text "Ringing 101". In these pages, the songs from "Ringing 101" have been highlighted so that each ringer’s left hand will be playing notes highlighted in blue, and their right hand will be playing notes highlighted in pink. You can either print off the color-coded parts for each ringer or you can print for just the ringers who need highlights.
The Expansion Pack #1: Hymns (MHP3060EP1) contains 8 hymns and is an educational resource to be used once the techniques in "Ringing 101" have been learned. The pieces are ordered from easiest to most difficult (Levels 1- to 2). Once your ringers have mastered playing these songs, they are ready to move on to Level 1 & 2 pieces. The hymns in this expansion pack are also available in the color-coded format as explained above (MHP3060EP1H).
