Review:
This toe-tapping Bluegrass piece, written by Arthur “Guitar Boogie” Smith in 1954 and made famous in the movie
Deliverance, has been artfully arranged for handbells! It can be performed as a ‘duel’ between ensembles or between bass and treble bells. In between the rubato lead-in and the rapid ending, there is something for everyone including Rung bass and challenging rhythmic counter-melodies. This will be great fun for your ensemble and a delight for listeners! 57 measures in the key of G Major.
