This great American folk hymn begins meditatively through use of the singing bell and malleted bells off the table, offering an effective meditation on Christ’s wonderful love. As the hymn text moves from reflective stanzas to full praise in the final stanzas with the words, “To God and to the Lamb I will sing,” so too, this compelling setting gains momentum and energy. 62 measures.
