Review:
Arranged for 3 to 5 octave handbell choir, Jason Krug's arrangement of this little-known Puerto Rican carol is a treat for ringer and listener alike. An impassioned opening figure gives way to the melody, underscored by full chords. A second verse, accompanied by a dance-like chordal figure, sets the stage for the return of the opening theme, which then gives way to a joyous final verse, accompanied by a malleted bass figure. This arrangement is a wonderful choice for the group looking for something different this holiday season. 80 measures. Key of a minor.
