Review:
"Mixolydian Madness" is the Winner of the Area 3 Youth Handbell Festival Composition Contest. Chosen from many entries, this piece is unique as it works for small (2 or 3 octaves) or large (4 or 5 octaves) ensembles. With a great use of techniques: mallet lifts, mallet work, and shakes, this piece is composed in mixolydian modes of A, F, and D. Optional percussion includes tambourine, triangle, finger cymbals, or windchimes. Great for church, school, and massed ringing. 85 measures.
