"Fling Wide the Door" captures the excitement and expectancy of Advent and the flurry of preparation that the coming of Jesus inspires. The repetitious phrases of the hymn are used in a dialogue, answering each other and keeping the ringers very busy! This piece uses a variety of techniques in combination to create different sounds, and chimes enhance the melody in different registers. With attention to the dynamics and a lively tempo, "Fling Wide the Door" will be received enthusiastically by your listeners. It is 116 measures in length and is scored in G Major and C Major.
