Review:
Two Irish folk tunes, "Down By the Salley Gardens" and "Londonderry Air," are creatively intertwined. Although both tunes can be found as hymn tunes as well as other more secular uses, the emotive qualities of these melodies are transcendent. The original tunes speak of longing, nostalgia, and even homesickness. Suitable for services of remembrance, performances with a Celtic touch, or near St. Patrick's Day, we're sure your handbell choir will enjoy ringing this piece whenever you use it. 70 measures long, this medley is scored in C Major.
