Review:
An attention-getting opening selection for a choral festival or festival service, this version of SPANISH HYMN (sometimes listed as MADRID) begins with a vocal processional and follows with a variety of options to sing the hymn. Settings include a straightforward hymn-sing; an echo between a children's choir and adult choir with brass; and a fanfare-style option with both choirs, congregation, brass and keyboard. The optional use of a few handbells can lead the processional. Brass instruments include 2 trumpets and 2 trombones. This arrangement is scored in G Major.
