Review:
This is a clear, straightforward arrangement of a Shaker tune in g minor. Not to be confused with
"Tis a Gift to Be Simple", this setting's strong melody is accompanied by lilting patterns in 4/4 meter. Later, the bass register picks up the tune with simply stated chords in the treble. It is 52 measures in length, just right for a reflective moment in worship.
