"Bell Symphony" was arranged for the dedication ceremony for the new fourth octave of handbells at Pilgrim Congregational Church, Harwichport, MA on Sunday, August 8, 2004. Henry Purcell (1659-1695) was appointed organist at Westminster Abbey in 1680. The Bell Symphony is the introduction to the anthem "Rejoice in the Lord". It is based on the descending scale of the Westminster Abbey bells. Measures total 32.
