Review:
This energetic and delightful arrangement of Weisse Flaggen, is set for 3-5 octave handbell choir with optional handchimes and 2 B flat trumpets. It is an excellent choice for school, church and festival events. The melody, which is dated 1741 and believed to have originated as a folk song, enters at measure 13 after twelve measures of exciting introduction. Optional handchimes are introduced in measure 2 and continue to move in and out of the musical texture throughout the piece. The optional use of two B flat trumpets adds an exquisite dimension to the excitement of this piece. The ringers and listeners alike will experience joy as they listen to its performance.
