Review:
Written in memory of a friend, this expressive work also calls for four bass-clef chimes (Ab3, Eb3, Ab4 and C5). The plaintive melody is supported by flowing, eighth-note accompanimental lines. This section is contrasted with solid chords in simple rhythms. The intensity grows and then peacefully ends with the optional chime chord. The piece is 85 measures.
