8 Bells for Spirituals
“8 Bells for Spirituals” is a welcome addition to the “Celebrations” Series of ringTrue Music: 3 popular L2/2+ Spirituals - “Guide My Feet,” “Ev’ry time I Feel the Spirit” and “There is a Balm in Gilead” - are cleverly arranged for just 8 bells playable by 4, 3, or even 2 ringers. Each short piece is offered in 4 different ranges, depending on which bells the ringers want to use: C5-C6 for 1 octave groups, D5-D6 to keep space notes in left hand, F5-F6 for 2 octave groups, and C6-C7 to allow for lighter bells and 4iH options. Syncopated rhythms and 16th notes challenge ringers to ring these traditional tunes as if they were being sung. Play one or all three in worship, concerts, outreach venues like home and hospital visits, fund raising, on parade floats and even in flash mobs.
