Adoro te devote
Written in Mode V and named Processionale, in Paris in 1697, this lovely melody is set here for 3 or 5 octaves of bells. The melody starts in measure one in the lower bells with a simple, eighth-note accompaniment above. After a key change the tempo slows down and the texture becomes fuller. A return to the first tempo adds the melody, rung and plucked in the bass bells. The ending is full and triumphant. Set in D Major and C Major, this piece is 64 measures.
