O Day of Peace
Seven handbells (Bb5-A6) contribute to this lovely Scottish tune with text by Carl P. Daw, Jr. Hal Hopson sets blends the two in a gentle lilt that echo's the title. "O day of peace that dimly shines through all our hopes and prayers and dreams, guide us to justice, truth and love, delivered from our selfish schemes" is sung to an SA or unison melody line that is relayed to the single bass line. Wonderful for a meditation of that blessed hope of Christ's return.
