Gower Wassail
This festive holiday anthem is an arrangement of a folk song originally collected on the Gower Peninsula in Wales in 1928. Written for mixed voices, winds and handbells. The winds are four Renaissance instruments such as shawms, sackbuts or dulcians. The handbells range from C5 to E6. The text begins: Awassail, aswassail throughout all this town, our cup it is white and our ale it is brown. (Instruments consist of Oboe, Cornetto, Sackbut (Trombone 1), Dulcian (Trombone 2).
