Sylvan Glen (Peace Be With You)
This peaceful interlude evokes a lush forest glade with dapples of sunlight. “Sylvan Glen” features an easy Bell Tree solo using 8 bells C6-C7, and accompaniment options including easy harp, piano, guitar, bell tree (G4-G6), bells or chimes – or even a lower C instrument like a viola or cello. Either or both parts can also be played on Cymbells™. A bonus score offers the two parts consolidated, playable by a small ringing ensemble G4-C7 or as originally intended - a simple harp solo (Kath wrote it while learning to play harp.) An excellent first or second piece for a new bell tree soloist, set in d minor and triple meter, it is perfect for any quiet moment in worship or as a lovely, calm transition piece in concert. The subtitle “Peace Be With You” can be used in any setting as well. Requiring only 18 or 19 bells, “Sylvan Glen” can also be rung by 6-10 ringers away from the tables.
