Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence
The reverence and awe of the Advent season is captured in this starkly simple rendition of “Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence” by Kathleen Wissinger. The two non-compatible L1+ scores (in different keys) in the folio are based on “Picardy,” a 16th century French carol – “A” for 2 or 4 octaves and “B” for 3 or 5 octaves - and feature optional Bell Tree and chime solos (in various ranges), wind chimes and finger cymbals. (Bell Tree solos are included in the folio.) Singing bell and the unhurried demeanor of the piece summon a mystic quality that enhances worship, concert and festival. Select the setting that best suits your ringers’ needs: Play “A” on 2 octaves with as few as 5 ringers (using 4iH and a Bell Tree) – or “B” with as many as 13 ringers on 5 octaves of bells and/or chimes. Part of the “True Music Series” from ringTrue Handbell Music, “Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence” is one example of how flexible and expansive handbell music can be.
