There Is a Happy Land
Drawing from a Scottish text and tune, Russell Schulz-Widmar has captured with simple, folk-like elegance the words, “There is a happy land far, far away, where saints in glory stand bright, bright as day.” A gentle flow is beautifully created with SAB choral lines accompanied by only eleven handbells. This reflection on the eternal hope of heaven is useful for general occasions and ideal for the celebration of All Saints Day. The reproducible handbell part is included in the anthem. Set in D Major, the anthem is 62 measures.
