Review:
Inspired by Hebrews 1:2, composer Kathleen Wissinger delivers an exciting and quite challenging original work for 3 to 5 octaves of handbells with an option for 3 to 5 octaves of chimes. The piece begins mysteriously in a free style form of plainchant and grows into a majestic, complex level 5+ work, which also utilizes tambourine or casaba and wind chimes. This composition will be a challenge for most groups but well worth the effort. The subtitle of "Rhapsody in A minor" would be appropriate for a more secular setting. A special "singing bowl" technique is employed. Written in a minor, D Major, and c minor, measures total 121.
