Review:      The Twelve Toner System is designed for all who could benefit from a music playing experience but for whom the complexities of music notation would be overwhelming. Ideal for the music therapist and educator, the text suggests the use of colors, numbers, and a combination of both, and offers three progressive levels of learning and playing. Volume 13, entitled "New Horizons," of this system once again focuses on lower functioning groups, who often do not deal well with group responses. The emphasis is on short songs using only 6 to 8 individual notes and a final chord at the end. Extensive instructions are given for using this book, whether using notes or chords or both.
