Review:
An original work commissioned in memory of a loved one, this selection combines 3 octaves of optional handchimes (or solo C-instrument) with 3-5 octaves of handbells to achieve a tender and flowing tapestry of melody, harmony, and varying accompaniment styles. Set in 4/4 time with simple rhythms and open spacing for an "airy" feel that grows stronger throughout the work. Few special techniques are called for allowing ringers to focus on the pure, rung sound of bells. 119 measures in length.
