Little Sod Shanty

Review:      Winner in the "Three Octave" category of the 2000 composition contest sponsored by the Alberta Guild of English handbell Ringers, this is an arrangement of a homesteader's song from the Canadian and U. S. prairies. Nine handchimes in the 2-octave range are also scored and first appear on the second statement of the melody. The tune is almost identical to the old hymn melody "The Lily of the Valley", making this arrangement suitable for worship.
