One can easily picture a distance trumpeter sounding forth in the early dawn through the musical images in this setting from the Original Sacred Harp. All ranges have the opportunity to ring the melody, which is accompanied by various textures and special techniques. A full chord martellato-lift ends the 64-measure long work.
