Carillon

Review:      Commissioned by the Raleigh Ringers in honor of their director, this transcription of Louis Vierne's original work captures the essence of a beckoning carillon. The melody can best be described as one of harmony and motives rather than a singable line. A rhythmic ostinato permeates each texture, sometimes in the upper register, sometimes in the lower. The tempo is marked "Allegro" and gives no quarter throughout, other than the occasional "poco ritard". Arranged in C Major, measures total 122.
