Five octaves of bells, though optional, lend their unique flavor to this hymn concertato on the tune PUER NOBIS for congregation, SATB choir and optional brass, bells and timpani. The text from the 18th century begins: "On Jordan's banks the Baptist's cry announces that the Lord is nigh; Awake and hearken, for he brings glad tidings of the King of kings." Can also use the titles "What Star Is This with Beams So Bright & That Easter Day with Joy Was Bright".
