Review:
Interesting arrangements for beginning ringers are found in this Ardis Freeman handbell library.
"Away in a Manger" combines an ostinato, inner voice, scale-step movement and block chords. There is plenty to keep everyone busy. The back cover gives performance suggestions and a warm-up exercise that helps the ringers understand the music better. No syncopation is used, making this a superb arrangement for beginning ringers for the Christmas season. Permission is given to copy the exercise on a transparency if so desired. Set in Eb Major, this piece is 40 measures.
