Review:
Interesting arrangements for beginning ringers are found in this Ardis Freeman handbell library." How Firm a Foundation" provides a good challenge for uniformity in movement, watching for repeats, and rests and clean damping. Also, the ringers will encounter various "road map" signs and learn to follow a score. However, there are no worrisome page turns. The back cover gives performance suggestions and an warm-up exercise that helps the ringers understand the music better. Permission is given to copy the exercise on a transparency if so desired.
