Review:
Mr. Simpson wrote this original work in honor of a long friendship. The tempo is allegro which allows the scale-like melody to move along. The texture moves in and out of open spacing to more full chords. A moderato section comes next with a flowing, arpeggiated accompaniment in the middle bells and melody in octaves above. This continues in a piu animato section with the addition of staccato in the accompaniment and more complex rhythms in the upper bells. Tempo I returns and finishes out the work.
