Review:
"Requiem" is a commissioned work included in the "Janus" Series from AGEHR written for handbells with Oboe, flute and optional percussion instruments. The work is basically divided into three sections. Section one begins with a quarter-note pulse which grows and provides the foundation for the solemn, but tender melody above. Section two, in 5/4 is more flowing with eighth-note arpeggiated and scalewise motion. Section three returns in flavor to section one, but is fuller and more expressive.
