Review:
This is the familiar "My Country Tis of Thee" arranged freely for 3 to 5 octaves of handbells by the veteran handbell composer/arranger Betty Garee. An instrumental accompaniment is available (LB5117). Brass consists of 3 trumpets, 2 trombones, tuba and optional timpani. Texture is thick with multiple dynamic changes and a change in from 4/4 to 3/4 and back to 4/4 at the end. Although only 38 measures, the piece, set in F Major, will surely please the audience as well as ringers.
