Review:
Al’s setting of this favorite holiday carol is rhythmic and includes Flugelhorn or B-flat trumpet and optional bass – electric of acoustic. The driving bass line keeps the excitement moving forward. A brief and more calm handchime section leads to the driving rhythm, a couple of key changes and return of the brass melody. A ‘half time’ chordal section followed by a creative and gradual return to the original rhythmic theme and the very exciting ending. This is a terrific title to add to your group’s holiday concert!
