Review:
This Christmas classic is based on James Pierpont’s original ‘Jingle Bells’ tune written in 1850, and Beal and Boothe wrote the rock ‘n’ roll arrangement which was later released by Bobby Helms in 1957. It has since been covered by many other performers and is a holiday staple throughout the world. Hart Morris has wielded his creative musical pen yet again … creating a fabulous arrangement for 4 of 5 octaves handbells. Carefully-placed malleted and Rung notes emphasize the rhythms while perfectly-placed melody and counter-melody voicings are featured throughout the setting. Addition of accents, RT, shakes and optional “Jingle Bells” add even more interest to this amazing arrangement. This is definitely a “Must-Have” for your group’s holiday concert repertoire!
