Jerusalem

Review:      The hymn "Jerusalem" is sung so extensively in England that it is sometimes referred to as England's second national anthem. The poem 'And did those feet in ancient time' was written by English poet William Blake circa 1808, was set to music by Sir Hubert Parry in 1917, and later orchestrated by Edward Elgar. Thus it is no wonder that Fred Gramann conceived combining Elgar's "Nimrod" from the Enigma Variations with Parry's "Jerusalem" in this new work for handbells.

It is mostly Rung with well-placed LV passages, dynamics, and one beautifully crafted key change. Flowing sixteenth notes that support the beautiful melodies throughout and the interplay between the two titles all join to create this uplifting and powerful work – perfect for any worship or concert event.
