Review:
This rich setting of "Eternal Father, Strong to Save" is given extra depth and aural interest with the addition of either organ or trumpet, trombone, and timpani. A full chordal verse gives way to a verse accompanied by eighth-note chords and arpeggios in the bells before leading into a more subdued treatment of the theme. A final, bold verse lends the piece a feeling of satisfying completeness.
