Review:
Combining the well-known hymn by Arthur Sullivan with the famous "Trumpet Tune" of Henry Purcell, this setting is ideal for ensembles searching for something a little different. After a stately chordal iteration of the hymn, the energy ramps up with malleted bass chords, punctuated with snippets of the "Trumpet Tune". As a final verse, the two tunes are played simultaneously, casting each in a new light. 105 measures in C Major.
