Review:
The Percy Faith favorite, "Brazilian Sleigh Bells", is a delightful and energetic dance-like piece reflecting the Samba style and Kurt has done a masterful job of scoring it for handbells. The melody flows throughout with the rhythms and counter-melodies supporting it. There are two occurrences of fun and challenging descending chromatics that feature a simpler ossia section if needed. The many articulations throughout, a few LVs perfectly placed, and the dynamics help make this one really click! It moves right along but has a section that is a bit slower before returning to the original tempo. Optional sleigh bells are suggested but not scored. This is a “most-have” score for your Bronze ensemble!
Begins in D Major, modulates to G Major, then to C Major before returning to D Major. 168 measures.
